This is simultaneously the best and THE WORST way to check your work.
Sketch I did whilst chattin’ wif mah girlfriends~ also trying to get back into the swing of re-animating my dead web presence…
Hey! A piece of art I did appeared in the Bill Watterson documentary “Dear Mr. Watterson”! Check it out on Netflix, it’s around the 1:07:30 mark!
Yo yo, it’s been awhile.
Been really bad at posting here… well, anywhere actually. :\ 2014 has been an extremely busy year so far:
- I’ve moved to a new apartment
- my team at my company launched 2 mobile games and 2 fully-animated web games (one of which I got to contribute quite a bit of FX animation on, yay) and getting ready to launch a 3rd in the next couple of weeks. I’ve been staying late at work for most of the past 4 months.
- still selling my Elements flashcard decks at a pretty steady pace, looking at expanding my inventory into larger flash cards, posters, and maybe printable PDF cards
- went on a week’s long vacation last week, first to home to see my loverly friends get married, and then to NYC with my BFF to see Neil Patrick Harris star in “Hedwig and the Angry Inch” (one of my favorite movies/musicals of all time). Both amazing experiences and a well-needed departure from work for a while.
Next upcoming major moment in my life — I’m looking into/strongly considering adopting a cat. I haven’t shared my living space with a cat in about 6-7 years and I’ve never adopted on my own before, but the idea has been in my head for a long time and I would love to share my home with a little furry friend. :)
In the meantime I am still drawing — not as much as I’d like to be, but I’m trying to remedy this — and learning a ton of new things from work and trying to apply it to my own work.
That’s about it for now! I’m sure that if I get a cat, pictures of him/her will take over all of my social media accounts… :P
Sharing this because I’m doing lots of FX animation at work right now
I actually don’t like this water splash much because if you look at actual water splashes of something hitting the surface of the water (like here) there is a secondary center droplet that bursts back out of the water, which this animation does not have. Besides I think the timing of the water splashing back down looks like it’s going too fast.
But the link to the site is totally awesome *-* very good FX reference
Got my last shipment of Elements cards before the new year! Please place all orders by the 18th of December to get them in time for the holidays - the shop will be on vacation after that! :)
As always thank you for your kind words and…
Last chance to buy my Elements flashcards before Christmas and the new year! They make great gifts!
